Michele and Antoinette Bonaventura opened the doors of the Gran Canal Caffé in 1995 and have been serving the best of classic Italian cuisine ever since.
Born and raised by the sea in Foggia, Italy, Chef Michele's passion for food began at a young age. He trained in the culinary arts and worked throughout Italy, Germany, England, Switzerland, and the Caribbean before finally establishing himself in the United States.
As advocates of the Slow Food movement, the Bonaventuras ensure that all dishes served at the Gran Canal Caffé are made fresh daily and cooked to order. Handmade pastas, flavorful sauces, and tender meats and seafood are masterfully prepared and complimented by a robust selection of Italian wines. Antoinette herself makes the house desserts daily, including her renowned tiramisu.
The Bonaventuras take pride in delivering a fine Italian dining experience, complete with warm, attentive service and delectable fresh foods.
